Behind The Tiles
What We Find

When we strip old tiles, we regularly find problems that explain why the previous job failed. Tiles laid on a sand base with barely any cement. Adhesive applied only in the centre of each tile, leaving the edges hollow. Walls that were never plastered or levelled before tiling. These shortcuts are why tiles crack, grout fails, and water gets behind the surface.

We fix what’s underneath before anything new goes on top.

Our Approach
How We Work

Every tiling job starts with proper surface preparation. Walls get plastered and levelled. Floors get a proper screed with guide beacons if needed. We use the right adhesive for the right surface — flexible adhesive for large-format tiles, pool-rated adhesive for wet areas, outdoor-rated for terraces. Tiles are laid with consistent spacing, properly levelled, and grouted with the correct product for the application.

It sounds basic, but you’d be surprised how often these fundamentals are skipped.

Terraces & Pools
Outdoor Tiling

Outdoor tiling on Costa Blanca has specific challenges. Intense UV exposure, thermal cycling from hot days to cool nights, and occasional heavy rain. We use anti-slip rated tiles, frost-proof adhesive, and ensure proper drainage slopes so water runs off rather than pooling on the surface.

For pools, we always apply a full waterproofing membrane before tiling — because concrete alone won’t keep the water where it belongs.

Questions & Answers
Tiling FAQ

How much does tiling cost in Spain?

Tiling starts from around €2,000, or roughly €25/m², depending on the area, tile and how much preparation the surface needs. We confirm a fixed price after a site visit.

Do you tile floors, walls, terraces and pools?

Yes — interior floors and walls, terraces, and pool tiling, all with the right adhesive and preparation for each surface.

Why do tiles lift or come loose in Spain?

Usually poor substrate preparation, a failing screed, thermal movement, or tree roots under terraces. We fix the cause first, not just re-lay tiles over a bad base.

Can you match existing tiles?

We do our best to source a close match, but discontinued tiles can be hard to find. We will tell you honestly what is realistic before starting.

How long does a tiling job take?

It depends on the area and preparation needed. We give you a realistic timeline up front.

Which areas do you cover?

We cover the Costa Blanca — including Javea, Moraira, Calpe, Altea, Benidorm, La Nucia, Orihuela Costa, Torrevieja and the surrounding towns.

Do you guarantee your work?

Yes. We give a workmanship guarantee — up to 5 years on structural and waterproofing work, with shorter periods on other work — covering defects in how we carried out the job. Installed equipment carries the manufacturer’s warranty. Full terms are on our workmanship guarantee page.
